ELEMENTARY YOUTH SPORTS

Introduce your child to the excitement of Track & Field! This program offers engaging practices and meets that teach participants the fundamentals of the sport. Running events vary by age and include distances from 25m to 800m, while field events feature the softball throw, plastic javelin throw, high jump, and long jump. Each meet allows participants to compete in two running events and two field events, offering a well-rounded experience.

Practices are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with meets on Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The season concludes with a final meet on Wednesday, June 25, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. All practices and meets take place at the Grace College track facility.

For cancellations before registration closes, the YMCA provides a full credit or refund. After registration ends but before the program begins, a 25% credit or refund will be issued. Once the program starts, no refunds are given, and weather-related cancellations are also non-refundable.

Let’s run! This program is designed to help participants improve endurance and stamina through a combination of sprints, intervals, and distance running. With engaging practices and Saturday meets, participants will be introduced to the basic principles of cross-country running. The program also emphasizes healthy living, providing families with tools to make nutritious food choices while fostering a love for running.

Practices are held on Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Harrison Elementary fitness track and meets take place on Saturday mornings at the Warsaw Community High School XC Course (time TBD).

For cancellations before the end of registration, the YMCA offers a full credit or refund. After registration ends but before the program starts, a 25% credit or refund will be issued. Once the program begins, no refunds will be given. Additionally, no refunds will be provided for weather-related cancellations.

Join the fun in our 6-week Youth Outdoor Soccer League on walled-in turf fields! This fast-paced format keeps the action moving, helping players develop footwork and ball-handling skills. Each Saturday, teams will have a short practice before their game. Players must register for their correct age division at the start of the season, though parents may request to move a child to a higher age division (not lower). YMCA sports jerseys ($17) are required and can be used for multiple seasons. Team assignments and schedules will be available in Playerspace before the season starts.

Join our 6-week co-ed Fall Basketball League from November 1 – December 13 (off week on November 29 for Thanksgiving). Games take place on Saturdays at the YMCA gyms, with each team getting a 15-minute practice before their game. Children must register for their correct age division at the start of the season, though parents may request to move a child to a higher division (not lower). YMCA sports jerseys ($17) are required and can be used for multiple seasons. Team assignments and schedules will be available in Playerspace before the season starts. Volunteer coaches are needed—consider signing up to help your child’s team!
