Students will learn the basics of log rolling technique, including squat run, skip stepping, starting commands, eye placement, and balance. Students will begin with understanding commands and how the log works. Students will then learn how to balance and keep up with the log. Students will then practice without competition and at the end a non-pressure competition of either mirror match or running match competition. ABILITY TO SWIM IS REQUIRED and FULL independence in any depth of water unassisted.
A family-friendly movie (G-rated) will be played on the wall via a projector in front of the warm water pool. All ages and families are welcome, but please be conscientious of other members with both talking and playing around in the water. Please be aware only the in-water pool lights will be on, so watch your step on the pool deck. Any swimmers under the age of 12 need to be within 6 feet of a guardian at all times. No external flotation devices are allowed due to visual obstruction.
This class is designed to help our Stage 4, 5, 6, and Swim Academy students enhance the skills needed to participate in Team Swimming. The focus is given to diving from blocks, flip turns, and touchpad finishes. MUST BE REGISTERED TO PARTICIPATE. Class sizes are limited.
