Soccer for both youth and adults at the Y this fall
Tuesday, August 7, 2018
Registration for youth outdoor soccer runs until August 15 for ages 3 to 10 at the Kosciusko Community YMCA. It’s easy to sign up and a membership to the Y is not required. The Y’s soccer program is a safe environment for children to learn practical and social skills and develop positive values. Modified rules and equipment will be used to ensure the greatest opportunity for your child to succeed.
The league offers four divisions, Division I for ages 3 to 4, Division II for those age 5 to 6, Division III for those 7-8 and Division IV for those in 9-10. Division III and IV will have a 45 minute weeknight practice on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday. Division I and II will practice before their game. Games will be played on Saturday mornings and are held at Harrison School sports fields. In addition to being a good opportunity for kids, soccer will also give parents an opportunity to take an active role as a volunteer coach.
Register at either of the YMCA branches or online at www.kcymca.org. Registration will be open until August 15, with a late registration, including a late fee until August 24. The first game will be August 25 and the last October 6.
The YMCA provides financial assistance for those who qualify. Please apply 3 weeks in advance. We want to make sure that your children can be involved in a program that will give them the opportunity for teamwork, activity and character development.
In addition to the Youth Soccer League, the Y will be offering an Adult Soccer League on Wednesday nights, starting August 8 until October 10. Games will be 7-v-7 competitive soccer and are played at the CCAC. Register at the Welcome Center or by emailing zgard@kcymca.org.
