Dear Kosciusko Community YMCA Members,
For the past several days, the state of Indiana has taken significant steps to keep the public safe as the Coronavirus (COVID-19) begins to spread. In order to create more social distancing by cutting off potential gathering places, Governor Holcomb ordered the closure of all bars, nightclubs, and restaurants (except takeout/delivery) on Monday morning.
In response to his action, and in the fulfillment of our mission to be socially responsible, the Kosciusko Community YMCA (Warsaw and North Webster branches) will be closed for all activities effective at 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 18th, 2020 through a tentative date of March 31st, 2020. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we make this decision and though difficult, we believe these actions are necessary to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus
We recognize that this unprecedented situation presents challenges for families, businesses and non-profit organizations alike. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our members that are maintaining their active membership here at the Y. As a nonprofit organization, this is critical. We are all eager to get back to “business as usual”! For those who may need to consider putting their membership on hold, our membership staff can be contacted by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Additionally, while we close we will be working to provide ways for the Y to fulfill its mission of improving the health and well-being of our community. Currently, we are working to offer free online, home-based exercise classes, with more web-based programming to come. These free online resources will be posted via our website, www.kcymca.org, and social media. We will also be conducting a deep cleaning and disinfecting of our facility prior to reopening as well as other necessary tasks in order to avoid our annual fall closing.
We are hopeful that these significant precautions will help stem the spread of the virus and that we can begin to return to our normal routines soon. We look forward to seeing all of you when we reopen. God bless.
