The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne delivers YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program in Kosciusko County To help reduce your risk for type 2 diabetes, the YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program gives you the skills and support needed to make lasting healthy lifestyle changes. Led by a certified Y Lifestyle Coach, this year long program is designed to help you trade old habits for healthier new ones, increase your physical activity and lose a modest amount of weight. Participants are surrounded by a group of supportive people, with common goals, who care about your well-being. Lose weight, boost your energy, reduce your risk for diabetes and improve your health for life! Registration is ongoing; form available at the Welcome Center. Financial assistance is available, please contact the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne for availability. 260-755-4940. Pre-registration required. Next scheduled classes start on Mondays, October 30, 5:30-6:30 p.m. and Thursdays, November 2, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Wow, at my age I thought I should know already what to avoid eating, but I learned SO many beneficial tips from the Diabetes Prevention Class. And I'm so happy to say that today, a year later, I'm no longer in the "pre-diabetic" category, and know how to "stay out of it"!!!
