Adult Sports Referee

The YMCA is looking for an individual who can referee adult soccer games for about 3 hours on Wednesday evenings. The essential functions for this position are:

  1. Assisting the Director in providing direct leadership for adult soccer including knowledge of officiating the sport and maintaining equipment.
  2. Refereeing games, assuring that all participants are safe and following the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
  3. Proactively interacting with participants in the program while maintaining appropriate behavior, language, and attitude in all circumstances.
  4. Building effective relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
  5. Bilingual preferred.

This person meets needs and takes care of any issues that arise in the absence of management staff, ensuring that all staff, members and guests are following YMCA policies. This person should be hard-working and a strong communicator, showing initiative in evaluating needs and finding solutions. Confidence in handling emergency situations is essential. The end results of this position are satisfied, safe members and directed, effective staff. Available shifts Fridays 5pm - 9pm and weekends.

Childcare Director - full time position

We are currently looking for a full-time Childcare Director who will directly oversee Kids Club, Camp Little Eagle, After School Enrichment Program, Kosciusko County Promise and Child Watch and Multi-Generational Rooms. This person will develop, organize and implement high quality YMCA children and family programs with a focus committed to strengthening community.

The essential functions are:

1.Manages, directs and coordinates Kids' Club (Before and After School Program), School Break Camps, Camp Little Eagle (Summer Day Camp Program), After School Enrichment Programs, the Kosciusko County Promise and Child Watch and Multi-Generational Room.

2.Ensures high quality programming and establishes new program activities that meet YMCA objectives. Expands programs in accordance with strategic and operating plans.

3.Organizes and plans a family/youth special event four times per year, once per quarter.

4.Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.

5.Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives. Manages program drafts, invoice and past due balances in conjunction with the Director of Finance.

6.Develops and maintains relationships with school administration, parents and organizations and agencies related to assigned programs. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.

7.Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.

8.Maintains proper records, department files and equipment.

9.Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.

10.Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. One to two years related experience in a childcare setting preferred.
  3. Supervision experience preferred.
  4. Certifications: CPR and First Aid.
  5. YMCA Team Leader certificate within three years.

Beginning salary range: $33,000 - $35,000

This individual possesses a warm and supportive attitude toward children and needs strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, children, and staff. We are positively impacting our community one child at a time!

Hours:

Before school - 6am to 8:45am (start time varies per school)

After school - 3:30pm to 6pm

Caregivers may work up to 28 hours per week.

The Kosciusko Community YMCA offers Spanish lessons to non-Spanish speakers. The classes are held 1 night per week. We are looking for a new instructor who would be responsible for developing the curriculum and teaching the class beginning in August and running throughout the school year. The class evening is flexible, but it must be consistent throughout the school year. Strong communication and the ability to teach a wide range of learners is a must. If you are passionate about helping people learn the Spanish language and have 3-4 hours per week to dedicate to teaching, please join our team!
