Mentally (the Y) has impacted me, because I have seen people who have disabilities. . . that still go into the YMCA with a positive attitude. Which just goes to prove that with will-power you can excel in anything, even with slight setbacks.

"The YMCA has impacted me in two main areas; physically and mentally. Physically, because I try to make it a daily habit to come to the Y, in order to stay healthy--even though I'm not the skinniest and not the strongest. It has benefited me so I can do more activities that don't necessarily connect to the Y, but I have other options! Mentally it has impacted me, because I have seen people who have disabilities, whether it is autism or someone in a wheelchair or an amputee, that still go into the YMCA with a positive attitude. Which just goes to prove that with will-power you can excel in anything, even with slight setbacks."
Zane Gard, Director of Safety and Recreation says, "I have seen Duane mature significantly over the past year and a half. Not only is he consistently at the Y, but he gets others his age involved."
